About the Author: Anne Brashares
Anne Brashares is an American writer of young adult non-fiction. She was born on July 30th, 1967, and lived in Chevy Chase, Maryland throughout her childhood. Even though she has written 9 books, and is about to publish her 10th, she is best known for her "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series. After she studied philosophy at Barnard College, she worked as an editor for 17th street productions. she worked for this company for several years, and then published the first book in the series of 3, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", which became an international bestseller. In her blog, Anne Brashares shared what she wanted the characters in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, to be like. She stated "I wanted to create characters with big, open-ended lives- girls who wouldn't fit into a single novel." Anne Brashares definitely did do this, considering that she has 3, (soon there will be 4) books in the series.
